HE. Dr
Tawfig bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah; the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, met with members
of the Mawhiba Alumni, as a guest of the first “Mawhiba Guest” meetings today,
in the presence of HE. Dr. Saud Al-Mathami, Secretary-General of the
Foundation, and the director of Mawhiba’s General Department for Corporate
Communications; Dr. Mohammad Al-Masoudi.
At the
outset, Al-Rabiah sincerely thanked Mawhiba for hosting the meeting in national
foundation, which he described as a pioneer based on creativity, excellence,
the identification of gifted people and the development of their abilities.
At the
beginning of the meeting, Al-Rabiah recalled his childhood and his most notable
memories, hobbies, skills, and ambitions that he imagined for his future, and
the ways he took to develop these skills at that stage, saying that in his
early days, his dream was not big, and his interest was focused on graduating
with excellence from the university.
Al-Rabiah
spoke about his personal experience with Mawhiba through his son Omar; expressing
how his son incredibly benefited from joining Mawhiba programs, and his
experience as a father, which gave him another dimension that made him
enthusiastic about all that he saw of Mawhiba, its work and outcomes, and his
constant pleasure in seeing the achievements offered by the Foundation, as he
saw today from projects for talented and distinguished students.
During the
open meeting, HE. the Minister of Hajj and Umrah said: "Mawhiba always
makes the difference, and will continue - God willing - during the coming
periods, to provide the national economy with creative Saudi cadres,
contributing to the achievement of the ambitious outcomes of Vision 2030.”
Al-Rabiah
called to mind his educational career and experience in his school stages,
indicating that his love and passion for mathematics was one of the most
important features that enabled him to continue his educational journey with
all success, with God's blessing.
HE. the
Minister of Hajj and Umrah presented his compendium of expertise to university
students in the scholarship phase at University of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,
and how to hone their talents and extra-curricular activities, and take
advantage of various opportunities; opening the doors for them to reach a
bright future.
Al-Rabiah
directed his speech to his gifted children, saying: “Identifying gifted people
is important, but what is most important is to refine, persist and persevere
thereon to achieve amazing results.” He stressed that reading, education,
appropriate experience, and the company of distinguished people affect and
contribute to the development of talent and capacity development.
Al-Rabiah
called on job seekers to learn how to write biographies and communicate them to
others, take advantage of the summer period for training, and volunteer to work
in distinguished places; for the purpose of encouraging more learning, development
and access to the best opportunities. Moreover, Al-Rabiah gave a set of advice
to his male and female talented students; the need to define their goals, and
to work hard to achieve them, through the earnestness, diligence and
perseverance that will enable them -After God willing to come to what they
aspire to, realize their dreams and turn them into reality that contributes to
changing the realities of humanity, human prosperity and sustainable
development. He pointed out that the leadership of change needs meaningful
action, and a person cannot lead change without being a role model, assuring
the attendees of talented students that each of them is a role model.
He
explained that his experience with the Corona pandemic represented the greatest
pressure of his life. Yet, through the guidance of the wise leadership and
spirit of the teamwork of the Ministry of Health, the work was systematic, real
and distinguished - by the grace of God.
The open
meeting between the ambitious and persistent minister and the members of
Mawhiba Alumni came as part of Mawhiba’s endeavors to transfer expertise,
attitudes, experiences and ideas, to highlight the nation’s leaders and their
success stories, to become role models for future generations.
Dr.
Al-Masoudi concluded the meeting, saying: “Whoever wants to read about
administration should read Ghazi Al-Gosaibi, and whoever wants to read about
leadership, change, and development should read the biography of Tawfig
Al-Rabiah.”
