17 speakers will present their visions during the two-day event organized by King Abdul Aziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and G20 Saudi Secretariat
RIYADH: The first International Conference on Giftedness and Creativity will see prominent personalities in their respective fields discuss the future of the world and present their visions to take full advantage of the digital revolution.
As many as 17 speakers including Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdul Aziz bin Salman and Education Minister Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al-Sheikh, will attend the two-day conference.
The event will be organized by King Abdul Aziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity (Mawhiba) and G20 Saudi Secretariat as part of the International Conferences Program honoring the G20 Saudi presidency year 2020.
Riyadh Gov. Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz will inaugurate the conference on Nov. 8 on behalf of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
Two sessions will be held on each day on different topics. The first session will be titled “Imagining the future ... empowering talented and creative young capabilities to shape new future prospects."
UNICEF Executive Director Henrietta H. Fore will attend the first session. Prof. Michio Kaku, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Gerd Leonhard will be the keynote speakers.
Kaku is a visiting theoretical physics professor at Princeton University and New York University. He is also a futurist, who has written more than 70 scientific articles, while Tyson is an astrophysicist and a host of science-based TV series. His research works have mainly focused on physical cosmology, star evolution, galaxies, galactic astronomy, and how stars are born.
Leonhard is a European futurist and an author who specializes in the debate between humanity and technology. He is also a digital media foreseer. He is the author of “Technology Vs. Humanity."
The second session on the first day is titled “The digital world … how will it change the identity of the future?" The president of the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), Dr. Abdullah bin Sharaf Al-Ghamdi, will participate in this session along with the CEO of NEOM, Eng. Nadhmi Al-Nasr, Anthony Saltico, Vice President of worldwide education at Microsoft, and Hong-Eng Koh, global chief government industry scientist at Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.
The first session on the second day is titled “The future of innovation and entrepreneurship," which will be attended by Jonas Kjellberg, co-founder of Skype.
Adam Cheyer, co-founder and VP Engineering at Viv Labs, Esther Wojcicki, vice-chair of Creative Commons, Andreas Weigend, former chief scientist of Amazon.com will also attend the session.
The final session titled “How global visions shape the future of humanity," will be attended by Sally Krisel, past president of NAGC board of directors, and Lianne Hoogeveen, president of the European Council for High Ability.
Other participants will include Noriah Mohd Ishak, former president of Pusat PERMATA pintar – UKM, and Andreas Schleicher, director for the directorate of education and skills at the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).
